Kolkata - Hope Immersion Programme 2024

Last week fifteen 5th year students were afforded the incredible opportunity to travel to Kolkata as part of the Hope Immersion Programme 2024. Accompanied by Ms. Coholan and Ms. Philpott, students visited the Hope Foundations Health, Educational and Protection services in Kolkata throughout the week. During this week students engaged in a fantastic cultural exchange, learnt from students from other educational backgrounds, experienced Indian food, culture and religious practices. The highlight for all students who took part in the Hope immersion programme was visiting the many hope projects, including the Hope Hospital, Chitpur and Bhagar Creche, Punorjibon Laundry and protection homes. This programme has immense benefits for the children in Calcutta, as fundraising completed by our students ensures financial support for the various projects. The programme also has an incredible effect on our students, enhancing students’ self-esteem, increasing social awareness and most importantly instilling in them a sense of empathy for others and enhancing social awareness.
