Junk Kouture
A Massive Congratulations to our TY Junk Kouture Team who were successful in reaching the Regional Finals. Junk Kouture challenges students to create high-end wearable couture fashion from everyday junk to highlight that we all must waste less and reuse more. “The Burden of desire” is a dress created by four extremely talented, creative and hard-working BCS transition year students. Aptly named “The Burden of Desire” as we carry the consequences of past generations desires (global warming). The theme of the dress incorporated both global warming and Covid – highlighting global warming while emphasising the high usage of disposable masks and importance of utilising reusable masks. The team included, project manager Kate Barry, Designer Caitlin Hanafin, Dress maker Molly Lenehan and Model Rebecca Wallace. A huge thanks also to Mr. Kelly who guided and supported students duirng the project. The regional finals will be in the form of YouTube episodes throughout the course of the week of the 21 – 27, concluding with a grand final announcement episode at the end of the week. Good luck to Team BCS.
