International Women’s Day

Today Tuesday 8th of March Students recognised International Women’s Day by participating in Women on Boards - Time to Level Up webinar hosted by the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland and the European Commission Representation in Ireland. The webinar brought to light the inequality women face in boards. Having both women and men represented at the top table is crucial to successful leadership. During the talk multiple people spoke on the matter: including Frances Fitzgerald MEP, Aongus Hegarty – President, International Markets, Dell Technologies, Barbara Nolan - Head of the European Commission Representation in Ireland and Margaret E. Ward - CEO, Clear Ink. Students that took part in a discussion group after, felt the key message they took from the webinar was not just of the inequality on boards but of the importance for young women to have a positive female mentor in their life to encourage them to fight for what they believe in, a very strong message for all female influences on our student Body.
