Ardú Street Art Project.

TY history and art students taking part in a street art workshop with Ardú artists Peter Martin and Shane O’Driscoll. This project is run by contemporary artist who created the Terence MacSwiney mural along Grattan Street. Facilitated by History teacher Ms. Geaney, the artists are engaging with our Transition Year students to mark the centenary year of The Irish War of Independence. The commemoration project entails workshops and classes with our TY group, students are currently researching the theme 'Ireland's Journey to Freedom' and learn how to use spray paint, design murals and apply historical context to modern Art. Together, with the artists they will create a mural in the local area of Ballincollig.
