Amgen Biotechnology Experience

Our 4th and 5th year Biology students have participated in ‘The Amgen Biotechnology Experience’ - an innovative science education program which brings biotechnology into their classroom. Over a two week period our students worked with professional grade scientific equipment and consumables to carry out Leaving Certificate Biology experiments! Our students carried out micro-pipetting, using centrifuge, gel electrophoresis and DNA profiling. Our students really benefited from the hands-on experience of biotechnology and an insight into what a scientist does every day in their laboratories.
